No fixed format for class X in Tamil Nadu

Questions in Class X board exam will not be of fixed format and they can be asked from anywhere in the textbook, the directorate of government examinations has informed schools in Tamil Nadu.

A recent communication from the directorate pointed out that similar changes had been effected last year for Class XI and XII board exams.

The syllabus for Class X was changed this year, and board exam will be held under the new syllabus for the first time. Recently, model question papers were released for the boards.

“The model question papers are just to inform students and teachers about the sections and mark distribution. There is no necessity to ask the same type of questions from model paper, such as match the following or fill in the blanks,” the note said. As a blueprint would typically have details such as weightage of marks for each chapter, students used to skip chapters that have lower weightage.
