Sachin praises Indian women cricket team
- Indian women’s cricket team is amongst the best in women’s cricket and is as good as the men’s team, if not better.
- The likes of Smriti Mandhana, Mithali Raj, Jhulan Goswami have made a women outfit massive force to be reckoned with. And, as the 2020 T20 World Cup for women’s cricket in Australia lingers around the corner
- Sachin Tendulkar showered praises on the team and wished them good luck for the competition.
- The women in blue reached the finals of the 2017 ICC Cricket World Cup where they lost to England.
- India remained in the winning position for the most part before Anya Shrubsole sparked a collapse by taking six wickets to win by nine runs.
- Currently, the women’s team are ranked second and fourth in ODIs and T20Is respectively.
- Sachin believes that due to them, the young girls in India are finding the motivation to rise along to play for the national team.
They already have a huge impact, if you see even in 2017, I was watching the finals of the World Cup, which took place at Lord’s and India did well. We were in there till the end, just in the last I thought, the momentum shifted. But from the impact point of view, they had a massive impact and then there are young girls who are picking up a bat or ball, they are being motivated by these players.” Sachin said in a video posted by the ICC.
